The History Of The Cryptic Souljahz:

It all started with me (Skitz). I was in a rap duo called the "Dead Town Click" for a few years until my homie and recording partner decided to stop creating music. After that I recorded some solo shit, and kept on making music, but it just wasn't as enjoyable as when I was in a group. At that time I was helping out another rapper on his solo shit (Mabus). After awhile we decided to make a group together and stopped recording seperate solo music, this was in 2004. I created the name "Cryptic Souljahz" since our indie record label we had created was called Cryptic Melodies Entertainment. The name was fitting and we even made a trilogy of albums focusing on the war related theme. These three albums were made between 2004 and 2005. At this point we began to record with local artist Stray Dog. Stray almost instantly became the third member of the group. In late 2005 we started recording "The Suicide Soundtrack". By 06' the album was completed. I personally think their was something totally different about this album then the previous Souljah albums. With this album the group really evolved. Another big factor was their was only a few songs that featured Mabus. At this time Mabus slowly started to record less and less. After a few months we decided to start our next record called "Project : Mortem". We had tons of beats and ideas but we weren't working as fast as we usually did. All in all aboput 8 songs were recorded for the album, until we just quit. I was strugglin with writers block. Not just rhymes but everything. People don't really know but I come up with the ideas for all the records. I create the beats, or find the beats we're gonna use, create the topics, create  the artwork, I'm a creative fucking bastard and if I can't think then the shit just doesn't go down. Mabus was also starting to fade out. He was getting into a whole new feild of music and slipping away from what we originally created. So a few months went by and absolutely no music was created. The group was pretty much dead. Mabus started a rock group and I pretty much thought I was done with music. I started to think about everything and were I stood with all of it. I realized that I loved my group and ideas, and I just needed to expand on them and make everything bigger and better. This History is a work in progress and this is now. The Cryptic Souljahz now consist of Skitz and Stray Dog. I always got love for Mabus, he's not just a recording artist to me but one of my best friends, so he'll always be here, ya know. But we definately went our different ways in music. The Souljahz are currently working on their 5th and best album ever. It currently has no name but we got some fire already just waiting to explode on the world. I guess you'll just have to wait till the summer to hear it.
